M1 NB & SB J21-J22 Enderby to Markfield Resurfacing Scheme

I am writing to give you an update on our current programme.

The week beginning Monday 13th November and Monday 20th November, we continue with Phase Four on the southbound carriageway. From 9pm to 6am weekdays, there will be a full closure of the M1 SB J21 Entry and Exit slip roads and the Leicester Forest East Services entry and exit slip roads. There will be lane closures only on the M1 mainline. This closure will remain until Friday 24th November.

Having lost so many shifts due to the weather and other factors outwith our control, we are now looking to reach completion of this scheme at the end of January 2024.  We are asking all of our contractors to increase resources with the aim of completing as much of the work as possible before the Christmas traffic management embargo where we are asked to stand down from Tuesday 19th December until Monday 8th January 2024. This is to allow the free flow of holiday traffic.
