|Part Night Lighting - scheme to be discussed at next Council meeting 7th October 2013 20 September, 2013|
The County Coucillor for Groby, Cllr. O'Shea has been asked whether Groby will be moving onto the part night lighting scheme that has been running throughout Leicestershire over the past 2 to 3 years.
Cllr. O'Shea has advised that he has made enquiries with Officers at the County Council and they have advised that so far 75% of Groby has been surveyed and that a scheme is being put together to roll out early in the new year, possibly January or February 2014.
The County Council will be fully consulting the Parish Council respecting the scheme and an Officer will be attending the Parish Council meeting on Monday 7th October 2013.
A Public meeting wil then be arranged for residents.
Cllr.O'Shea advises that he "will do everything in his power to protect areas that are identified as vulnerable", and further states that Ratby have been running a similar scheme for the last 3 years with no real effect on crime.
