Children and Young People
There are many issues around children and young people in Hinckley and Bosworth.
There are several duties that the council has under sections 10 and 11 of the children Act 2004, which include better, joined up working between different agencies and safeguarding children.
Children and young people's services also includes the Hinckley and Bosworth Youth Council, positive engagement and participation, the What's Going Down Brochure, play workers, the Play partnership and Positive activities for young people (PAYP) funding.
In Hinckley and Bosworth there are also seven SureStart Centres which offer a range of services and support for families and young children, particularly under the age of five. In relation to services for older young people a new Intergrated Youth Support Service is being developed bringing services offering support to the 11-19 years together, giving these services a much more co-ordinated approach.
